Founded in Cologne in 2010 by Tom, Max and Stefan as a three piece rock'n'roll outfit, we tried to do things differently. Bass-less combo, inspired by old blues music and influenced by everything from acid rock to punk, transformed instantly into something, what became a serious band. Despite our different musical backgrounds, we've found the common ground in raw stripped-down boogie, gritty garage sounds and the wildest forms of elemental rock'n'roll. We locked ourselves in our rehearsal space for some time, to bring all these essences together. The outcame was quite a strange brew full of groove, fuzz and twang, perfectly fitted to fuel the rock'n'roll steam engine called Dead Beat Boogies. Enjoy!

I got the idea of starting straight-forward “two-guitars-bass-less-band” couple of years ago. I've been thinking of hound dog taylor / brewer phillips like combo, playing more up to date music. Two guitars sounding like one, accompanied by thunder rockin' beats. It was supposed to be quite elemental, no extensive solos and fret polishing at all, more like a combination of delta blues fingerpicking style and rock'n'roll licks. The challenge was to create groove based music without using bass guitar or other instruments and even though it took ages, to find the right guys, once we set the Dead Beat Boogies up, it kept going onwards.
I've always been huge music fan and been listening to everything from Son House to Pink Floyd, so this approach sort of redefined my image of rock'n'roll. It took some time to find the ingredients and make them taste well, or better to say to make them sound well. The mixture of raucous blues-boogie esthetic with more than just three-chords-downstrokes playing all the time. Keep it simple but not primitive, but don't overdo things just because you can. Hit the amp really loud, put a fuzz pedal in front of it for leads and let your fingers play. That's it. This is the legacy of Houserockers and that's what I love when it comes to making music.

.. and for keeping the beat of course! Being influenced by all kind of wild and asskickin' music, especially from the early 50's and 60's, I joined the Boogies in 2010, after taking time-off from Bands for couple of years. The passion was just too strong.. Peace and Power to all Boogie lovers!.
If you own a record label or if you're crazy millionaire, this is your chance.. We spent enough time rehearsing in the garage and even if we like garage rock'n'roll, it's time to leave it at last. After recording an EP and having brand new full length album in hand, we need to spread our music all around the world now.
The best way to discover the escense of Dead Beat Boogies is just watching us playing live. It's loud, it's gritty, but that's what rock'n'roll should be about. If you've already seen us live and by any chance made a good quality footage, let us know, so we can hook it up on our web.
Our picture gallery is not that huge at the moment, but there are still some pretty cool pics in it. To make it bigger, don't hesitate to send us your own Dead Beat Boogies' pictures, if you happened to take a snapshot of us live on the stage.
